Lessons in love

It is pointless to change the way he loves you to suit the preference of you like being loved. When terrible things happen and he stays quiet, he is contemplating of options to save you from the mess. His silly smile is the implication of 'guilty as charged' - and it is too cute to be punished. He has become quiet and you think he begins to ignore you - in fact, he just enjoys the moment of silence and he hopes you enjoy it too. Observe his focus and you will know if he is listening. Rule of 'boys will always be boys' and he needs his space and personal time for his childhood toys, collection, hobbies and interest.   Time-out makes your relationship stronger. He loves the situation of his friends like you and you mingle well in the crowd. Maturity of a relationship - he believes his instinct rather than the calendar. A man's trust resembles a woman's virginity - you can never mend these broken ones.

2008 - 2012

Have you tried to look back in 5-year time and contemplate, hey, when I started to dream and imagine life after leaving school? Where I am currently standing, and what are the achieving rate for each goal I've set to reflect on the belief I have held on - are there achievable, realistic, and most importantly, have they set right for what I have been looking forward to. Academic studies In many ways, I had to thank UQ and its environment that gave me the confidence in writing assignments by expressing my creativity, point of view and arguments; the courage to speak up my thoughts in English during tutorial; the relief of gaining higher grades in university era; and the enjoyment to take pleasure in academic studies. This was where I picked up those shattered faith from being a shy, timid, and reserved Asian kid. This was also the starting point of me communicating with louder voice, with more certainty, and speak more facts than gibberish that I translated from Mandarin...

Comment

Jason Mraz's I'm Yours was playing in one of the working days and I told him about the prelude reminded me of him. I received his song via BBM the next day and his comment written 'I am Yours :)' Oh my goodness, I was smiling at this comment the whole day. Sweet gesture from a big guy, haha.

Pursuit of perfection

When we are young, we tend to have high demands on people and things as if the world is revolving around us and we just wait for the right things fall in the schedule by its right timing. After a while, we realise good people and things don't just easily come by despite the fact that we have put in effort to get them in our plan. Then, frustration and disappointment negate us from looking at the situation in another positive perspective. We begin to lose focus, get distracted, crossing off more and more things from the list in order to tip-toe in existing position without losing those grips, and eventually giving up and leaving our hope to fate. I meet this guy who is very vibrant, positive, and confident about his life. He once told me about the initiative to be closer to our target is to learn about the target - which it is more than just a dream and you are learning a way to achieve it one day. Don't you get question from people of the plan to use the money you win f...

We are at the moment

We spend our Sunday at Pacific Coffee - he usually accompanies me quietly by browsing magazines while I am at work. Most of the time I finish his coffee and leave him speechlessly stare at the empty cup. He retaliates when the time is right. He interrupts me with the reasons of sharing interesting articles, videos, and he seeks for attention, perhaps. One thing about his companionship is, his presence tends to distract me as I can't seem to shut my mouth and ask him heaps of silly questions in a very comfortable state. We always dress up and sit comfortably in either CBTL, SFH, or Pacific Home, and he thought we are like fashionable looking, newly-wed couple enjoying a lazy weekend before a new week commences. Even now I will still think he is a too-good-to-be-true partner, one who just waltzes in my life without a sign, and turns out to be someone that totally fits the bill. You know how adorable this charming one is? He just excitedly showed off his 1st place o...

5 things I've learnt before Christmas

1) Never ever attempt funny stunts in conferences. Your customers tend to remember them well. 2) The gay-pseudo is challenging my EQ, testing my patience, insulting my IQ, and yet I learn to fake some love as if he is my BFF. 3) I deserve the criticism of being unprofessional if only I spill my hatred in your face, and have done it publicly. 4) Get some balls, or have I just crushed them accidentally? Oh, maybe I just did. 5) Merry Christmas to the bunch of assholes I'm working with, as I have this huge epiphany of 'Boxing Day is a day to be celebrated after Christmas' - to officially get your asses bashed afterward.

11.11.11

Months ago I wasn't sure how would I want to pick up the befriending mood to make a new colleague feel welcoming when the existing fellow left the department while I was on field work. All I knew was he had really charming emcee voice. And I thought he was not helpful at work. Coercive invitation was sent to him to help out in my event - he made me go chagrin by trying to pull my legs during the event. Guess I was too rigid to put up with his jokes. And I thought he was a bad influence. He would pester me for daily unofficial 4pm tea break at pantry, without fail. He said, I needed a break hence, the tea-break. And I thought he was kinda cool for making breakthrough from departmental state to office changes. He made me ponder and talked me into implementation and completing a proposal I thought I would never want to start it for thinking the idea would not be sold. And I thought I was lucky to have found an addition to Starbucks Joy Luck Club. This was where all the magics happened...
