Do I like my introduction?

Stripping off your salutation and professional title from your 16 active hours, have you ever wondered of how would you want to introduce yourself to a stranger again? I walked on foreign street and smiled at whoever came from the opposite. Stopped at the pier, I sat at the bench with draught beer in hand and ignited my blank mode - people watching. At one point of time, I was mentally rehearsing about what should I talk about if someone initiated a conversation. Then, I ran out of words for self introduction. First, your name. Second, your nationality? It's weird in certain occasions unless someone asks. Third, who are you? Probably you think of what you do for a living, or your corporate title, or maybe the industry you are in. Fourth, stuck in awkwardness. You think hard of what makes you an interesting person, and nothing pops up. I reckoned it's stuck at 'what do you do and how do you do it' part. Then, I ordered another beer and pondered what kind of person ...

Closing for my 20s

Yes, I'm heading to 30s era in the next few days. Albeit it's just a number you'd say, big deal haha. Nonetheless, it's the most vital decade of my life - moments I was sane and courageous enough to face problems, make decisions, get through them, and look back of how it started and where I ended. Let's review the trend of this decade with a few words: 20-22: Fidgeting time. Countless first encounters and experiences. Where true friends bonded. Happiest and most carefree times. 23-25: Toughest time. Moving out. Job after job. Tight financials. Steep learning curve on life, work and people. Lost star in the galaxy. 26-29: Turning point after meeting the love of my life. Not getting easy but it gets better when someone is there to lend a shoulder. Mistakes When I was on holiday last week, I was putting so much thoughts about this reflection. On one of the conversations, my husband asked me why was I not getting in touch with friends who used to be so close wi...

Warmth from stranger

Booth Cashier: (received my parking ticket) Ah kak, you masuk kerja pukul 6 lebih. Skarang baru off ke? Me: (in the car) Yalah. Hampir bayar max charges setiap hari. You dah naik harga pulak. Booth Cashier: (chuckled) Ah kak stress-nya. Nak jaga jantung ah kak ya. Me: (smiled) Thank you, dik. Some bad days could turn out to be good days sometimes and today is another good day I'm talking about. Thank you young chap for restoring my faith in humans.

Dreaming time

Something to be ashamed of when I was asked about my dream job, dream house and dream car recently because I do not have a very specific one in mind. I hardly dream about tangible dream, which in opposite, it is more on those intangible ones, i.e. freedom, security, and love. Practical yet still keep the idealism within a very small, sacred part of me.  Whenever I hear someone comments about how much they earn, how many assets in possession, and how many countries they have been to, I will probably just nod and do not know how to go on and probe for more questions such as 'what's your damage for the trip', 'owh that's nice. How's the neighbourhood?', 'oh my god I am so envy! Can I get a free ride later?' The silence will normally be interpreted as jealousy or uninterested; and then they would turn to the exciting crowd. Ah. That makes me an uninteresting person, not-so supportive friend, and notoriously is known as a hugest dork alive. So I gues...

Special for me

My husband is someone who could stay quiet all day just to create something very original to surprise me. For all the projects he has been doing my smile is his drive to succeed the projects. So I think for the coming wedding I'm gonna do something to surprise him this time!

Best day of my life

Image
Marriage - the most beautiful thing happened in my life recently. It's not exaggerating at all when I label myself as the luckiest girl on earth. First, my partner did most of the work from understanding legal document and registration procedures; then looking for suitable venues, and most importantly, organising the event like a professional planner. All I have to do is eat and rest well like a queen :)   Before the actual day of our wedding, I had lovely bunch of friends who were voluntarily offered to help. There was no way I could refuse the courtesy from people who were so excited and anticipated about our personal event. I'm really thankful.   In the presence of our close family and friends, we made prayers, exchanged personalised vows and rings. The entire flow was smooth and well organised by the Buddhist Society team. We received overwhelming blessings from people who attended the wedding and those who couldn't make it, they sent the heartfelt wishe...
