Young Victoria & Prince Albert
It's very hard to not notice the kindness and especially the love of Prince Albert, King of Belgium for Queen Victoria - a man who is willing to stay with the Queen till his last breath, willing to stand by his wife without asking for popularity and support from the people. It's all the duties he draws purely out of the word of love, his faith and belief in her ruling the country, and his ever-supportive, confidence, and guidance in succeeding the sovereign for twenty years.
I like love stories like that. In history. Because it happened. It could be dramaticised and yet I'm sure some part of it must be real.
Some people think pure love is naive, unpractical. Does that notion negate you from searching something you wish to float on surface in the ocean of people? First, you want to get the right person. Then, you want to get a hold of his/her thought. Next, you try to change him/her to fit in your bill. Everyone keeps experimenting on the subjects they have in hand and waiting for a desirable result. I would agree to you, yes, a relationship requires some experiments - to test out the chemistry, to observe the subject's response, and then conclusion - and it definitely works scientifically if that's the right word, explainable way in describing of a relationship's workflow. But that's not love because it is pure abstract and subjective. It all depends on how you define it - and yet the third parties always are highly opinionated, thinking that they would have better judgements than the couples themselves.
Buying a Gucci could be very appreciated when first receiving the gift and showing it to your relatives - it is a very directive approach to make pleasant feeling contagiously appeal to you and the people around you. Companionship to a all-girl drinking party and waiting outside with a coat in hand after the event ends - I'd say he has brought love to a personal level, a feeling one has wholly owned it as his move makes you feel the sense of belonging - wherever you are, he will stay. He reserves that pleasant feeling for you and only you will feel special when he does that and means it.
Today, people hunger for physical companion. I still hunger for love - something I wish to be developed naturally.
